Painted fitted wardrobes and wall colour?

Hi. I have a decorator coming round on Thursday to quote for decorating my bedroom. It's a large room with 2 banks of fitted wardrobes on opposite walls. the wardrobes are nicely built and really handy, so I want to keep them. I love grey, so I was thinking of having the wardrobes painted a nice dove grey or greige, but then what to do with the walls? Would another shade of grey be too dull? Shall I go for a contrasting colour? I want it to look airy and restful, so no really deep colours.

As I said it's a big room, but the 2 longer walls are pretty much all wardrobe, so the room is more wardrobe than wall IYKWIM!

Photo of one bank of wardrobes attached so you can see what I'm talking about, and just to give you a laugh, there is also a photo of the current wall/curtain/carpet combo. This, I hasten to add was the choice of the previous owners. Didn't they have impeccable taste! [hmmm]

Oh by the way, sorry forgot to mention, I am putting the house on the market soon (me and DH splitting up so it has to be sold), so it needs to be fairly neutral I think.

I've got similar and painted them exactly the same colour as the walls (sort of greige) two years ago - still like it!

I'd go for white satin or eggshell.

I'd also go for white and then would go for grey / greige on the walls.
