Currently kitting out a playhouse.I have a few bits and bobs and bigger toys I am looking forward to moving out of the house (toy kitchen, cash register, trolley and tool bench) and into the playhouse but looking for little extras now that would be popular with the little ones DD is 4 and DS is just over 1. Thinking in particular of household type items DS could 'fiddle' with that I could pick up in a charity shop eg a pair of old fashioned egg beaters-ie non electronic.Anything else like this?Or any homey touches I could pick up?It doesn't have electricity so anything that requires that is out.
Also it has a small loft area, what should I put up there.I've seen it done up on Pinterest as a sleeping area but I'd be worried blankets etc would just get damp and smelly quickly.Any thoughts?
I have painted a blackboard on the wall and am looking for some Lino for floor but other than that haven't got very far.I'm reasonably crafty and confident with sewing machine so was thinking curtains but anything else?

In the upstairs area you could make a cosy reading 'nook'. We don't have one in our playhouse but in DD's playroom she has a fabric open play tent covered in fairy lights and filled with bean bags and cushions. It looks really lovely and she often sits there with a doll and a book Smile

In DDs we have rugs on the floor, cushions, fairy lights which are solar powered (the lead goes outside), a mirror DD painted the frame (and is very proud of), little curtains and lovely bunting over the eaves. It makes it look really cosy and homely.

I'm not sure if you can in the house you have but we have a ceiling mounted swinging chair, which is the thing ALL the children of all ages love to play in, and DD loves sitting in there.
