Window treatment help!

I'm getting a new bedroom.
It 2 windows.
On one I want a roman blind.
The second, bigger (225cm wide x 125 h) . What I really want is roman blind inside recess with long, feature curtains. But it's too wide for a roman blind. Don't really want full length curtains because they stop the heat from the rad coming in, but, I hate short curtains.
Any ideas?

Hi, no that's not too wide for a roman blind, we regularly make them up to 250cm wide. They are a little stiffer to pull up on the chain mechanism but they work perfectly well. This one we did last week was 228cm wide.

You can turn the fabric sideways if having a join is an issue.
