Feather & Black

We are renovating our house and buying a new bed for our room. I have fallen in love with a bed from Feather & Black but with the mattress it is hideously expensive. Have just been reading terrible reviews online about their beds and delivery service. Does anyone have any recent experience buying from them? Is it worth looking else where?
TIA

Hi - not sure if this helps but a couple of years I fell in love with a Feather and Black bed - it was the Navarra, a great big hardwood thing with tons of drawers underneath. Couldn't afford it though as it was nearly ÂŁ2000 Hmm. Then I stumbled on an identical bed in a discount furniture store for about 25% of the price! Couldn't believe my luck and it turned out to be the very same bed. There was a crack in one of the drawer fronts, which is probably how it ended up in this other store, but it didn't affect the use, nor the appearance too much. It was delivered within a week for ÂŁ10 and I'm lying in it now and still very happy with it.

I've no idea if F&B beds are worth the money or what the service/delivery is like but I could never have afforded to buy that bed! At the very least, it may be worth waiting til they have a sale on?

I have a Feather and Black bed (Oliver I think) which I bought about 7 years ago. It arrived damaged and I was sent a replacement and a partial refund. I was really impressed with the customer service and the replacement bed is still as good as new. (I bought the mattress on line from a discount site, it's a Posteurpeadic one and only cost ÂŁ150).

I bought an Oliver bed from them a few months ago. Couldn't fault their service and delivery and it's a beautiful bed. Really solid. I bought my mattress from Argos who had some really good deals on at the time.

I have the Olivia bed, wardrobe, 6 drawer chest & bedside tables and I love them to look at - looks wise & colour-wise (painted off white) superb.

A word of warning though: the paintwork chips VERY easily. We are moving house soon and I am paying extra for the removals men to specially pack and protect them I'm that paranoid about them getting damaged.

If you want furniture that is going to need to be hard wearing (kids etc) then I personally would avoid anything from the feather & black range that is painted wood.

Shop around online & buy the mattress elsewhere. If you do your homework you'll probably find a better quality mattress for much less elsewhere.

We bought F&B beds from their Chingford discount store so worth calling to see if they have what you want. Their mattresses is expensive so we bought elsewhere. I don't think they make their own mattresses and the beds are standard sizes anyway.

Feather & Black must have one of the worst Customer Services Department in the UK.

We ordered a bed and bedside cabinets, paid in full and was then advised the bed was out of stock and would not arrive until a month later. One month went by, no contact from F&B so I phoned to be told another months delay, guess what – waited till the end of the month and nothing. Phoned the Tunbridge Wells store again and once again given the brush off, in fact they gave the impression they were doing me a favor for even investigating the problem ! As this was obviously a delivery issue, the container hadn’t arrived from China, I emailed Nicky Millard at F&B who like Davide Cameron, promised much but delivered little.

The moral of this story is don’t pay until you have the goods and if you need something inside six months shop somewhere else

Hi

I have fallen in love with the Navarra range too! I bought one last year but wanted another one for the spare bedroom but was told it was a discontinued range.. was so disapointed. Did you buy your Navarra recently? Woul you know where you can still purchase it from?

Their customer service is awful. I would never buy anything from them again.

We bought a bed from them earlier this year. Took weeks to come (much longer than the lead time I was told in the shop). When it eventually came parts were ripped and stained. Took weeks to get the replacement parts. Their customer service team wouldn't answer the phone and only sorted the problem out after I posted critical things on their FB page.

I like the bed I bought from them but I resent having given such an awful company ny money, and i certainly won't buy anything else from them.

Whatever you do DON'T buy anything from Feather and Black. They are an utter pain to deal with. We bought over ÂŁ2000K of furniture from tehm in September. After much chasing, silence, more chasing, hours spent on the phone we marched into the shop and demanded our money back in mid November. Miraculously they found our stuff in the warehouse and fixed a delivery date. Texted window for delivery 11.14-1.15 - they arrived at 4.45pm with not a word in between. The online chat guy at the delivery service actually hung up on me! AND the bed doesn't even have the fixtrues to put it together - its basically bits of useless wood without them. Just spent another 2 hours repeatedly phoning head office and the store and they are clearly ignoring the 1000's of people trying to get hold of them and refuse to answer the phone. They just let it ring out. Don't enter the hell hole that is trying to buy anything from these people.

I cannot tell you how bad this company is. They used to be good but their products are terrible quality and expensive and their customer service is appalling! They do not care.. they do not get back to you... they do not resolve issues. DO NOT consider buying anything from them! Seriously I don’t say that lightly but they are the worst company in the UK.

After waiting four months for a headboard, it arrived and it was the wrong fabric and colour. Do NOT shop here. Customer service is terrible. They don’t answer the phone or reply to voicemails. Very disappointed.
