A year ago I fell in love and brought the grey bird print duvet from asda this half term I'm finally getting around to decorating my room and getting new duvet out!

I want to avoid the room being to blsbk/white or masculine so thinking if adding a yellow!

First thought was a mustard yellow feature wall but what colue do I paint the rest? Or do I do all walls a pale yellow?

I have a white cast Iron bed frame and white shabby chic style furniture!

A light grey would be nice.

Try Pinterest. There will be lots of ideas there.

Dark violet bottom sheet and bottom pillowcases, lighter violet wall or walls or a dramatic dark violet wall if the room is light enough.

We had mad flowery wall paper with a very dark navy background in our very bright south facing first bedroom.

Would you consider pink?

These colours would work well together or you could go for one bold splash of pink like this.

I like yellow - pale yellow would be good, I think.

(And if you decide you can't stand it, paint is pretty cheap anyway)

With mustard yellow I'd go for a pale gray or a soft white. What direction does the room face?

I think that all the walls in pale yellow would be lovely and you could accessorize with different shades of yellow as well as grey.

I really like mustard yellow. Personally am not a fan of feature walls, but think that if you were going to do that the other walls should be a paler shade of the main wall.

Turquoise and grey work well, possibly with mustard cushions or other high lights.

Personally is steer clear of yellow walls. They are very cheerful, but they do limit your choice of bedding. Grey or soft duck egg/turquoise lets you have far more choice.

Good point. Maybe soft grey walls and pick up the colour in cushions, throws etc. That would give you scope to change much more easily.

I just remember the trouble my parents had with their room. They had brown flowery wall paper and brown bedding. It all worked perfectly.

Then brown went massively out of fashion and it's only recently it's been easy to get bedding that looks nice in there again.

Pale yellow. A lemony, chalky shade of it.

I would recommend mulberry silk by Dulux. We have it in our bedroom and it is a beautiful colour. You could tire of very very bright yellow easily but then it's easily updated too.
