We have just done up our loft to make a TV room... I really, really want to buy a velvet corner sofa in teal. But I am wondering if I am the only person who will think this is total loveliness? If not teal, my second choice would be apple green. Or should I just go for grey? (We have 4 nearly teens who will be main users of the room). Any opinions? I have to choose soon as the paint is going on the walls next week, and that will depend on the sofa! (as for the paint colour, that's a whole other dilemma!).

Do it! They are so beautiful. I really wanted one but it wasn't practical with a toddler. It'll really make the room and they are fun! A classic shape is a good compromise if you're worried about it looking dated but if you go for something more practical, you may regret it Smile

I like the sound of teal but think that velvet would wear badly with teens.

I would love a teal velvet sofa. I will live through you op, go and buy one for both of us (figuratively, not literally).

Nothing could be better than a teal velvet sofa. Do it. Apple green also good. Do NOT compromise and go for grey. If you're getting a velvet sofa, make it wild.

Sounds beautiful, go for it! I agree if you're going to have a velvet sofa, you want one in something other than grey...(says the owner of two grey sofas, not velvet though!)

I've got a duck egg velvet sofa. I cover it with a brown velvet throw most of the time but it's very pretty.
Only warning is the cat likes to scratch it though.

Go for it. I bought a brown sofa when I really wanted teal, so it matched.....regret it big time.

Hi, definitely not 1970's velvet is a beautiful touchy feely fabric that is completely on trend right now! Teal would look lovely especially with some copper tones added about the place....
