Which curtains in grey living room? What do you have?

At the moment I am choosing between corale denim, plain duck egg chenille or plain white/grey. We have white sheer roller blinds and a dark raspberry pink and charcoal sofa. Tables, shelves etc will be white or possibly dark matte grey. Will be back with links!

In my pale grey dining room, I'm going for dark grey velvet curtains with mid grey silk blinds. I have a dark red ceiling & red artwork & white woodwork. Its quite bold but its a huge room with 3.3m high ceilings & huge windows so can take it.

I would try to tie the scheme together in yours so maybe pick out the charcoal in the sofa - if that doesn't make it too dark or go for the duck egg if it matches the rug. I like the Corale but I think it might be too timid if you have those colours on your sofa.

Ok thanks - this is the sofa btw. The room has high ceilings but isn't huge so don't want to overwhelm with too many colours - I do want to tie in the duck egg on the rug with something on the walls/curtains. Where are your curtains from?

Love the sofa it looks lovely & comfy. Sorry can't help with where to buy as I made my curtains & blinds - mainly because the quote I got for a 3m drop x 4m window width x 2 windows was completely ridiculous (think small car price territory)
I managed to get the fabric & lining for a decent price and then have spent hours sweating over a sewing machine.
Silk Living room ones are up and look great. Dining room needs to have the decorating finished then the velvet ones can go up.

I really like grey - yellow combination which is not on your list. I would go with pale primrose yellow chevron curtains.

Soundevenfruity I like it too but not with the pink maybe.. I LOVE the sofa but it does limit me a bit! I am going to look out for another fabric before i commit to anything.

We have putty/grey coloured velvet curtains. Probably no good if youre going for a velvet sofa as well!

I think velvet might not work for us - I might just get the white natural curtain company ones while I make up my mind as they have a good offer on

I think you need to be careful with such a statement piece as your sofa (its lovely by the way). I would definitely go with plain fabric and would go grey rather than duck egg blue.

We have gone with the grey / yellow combo previously mentioned - the yellow is a very limited accent colour in the floral curtains and a tiny bit in the cushions.

Mandy do you think grey would be ok with grey walls? Don't want it to be too matchy. I am having a wobble with the duck egg rug with the sofa but think we could tie it in with cushions, pictures etc

I think its all down to personal taste but yes, I would say grey in a darker shade than your walls. I'm not sure to be honest of duck egg with bright pink but thats because I'm a quite matchy Blush - we've limited our colour scheme to grey, beige & yellow (with oak furniture & white woodwork).

What do you all think of this? It's bold but would work well I think. I bought some for another room but am liking it with the raspberry!

I would match raspberry with washed out chartreuse or better chartreuse design on white (ish) background.

If you scroll down here y will see how chartreuse looks with other bright colours: www.houzz.com/ideabooks/4533597/list/Color-Guide--How-to-Work-With-Chartreuse

I think a grey and white stripe would work better. Either a chevron if you can find it, or a ticking stripe.

You can't add chartreuse to a room with a pink sofa and a duck egg rug! Imagine it on hangover days!

Mairzy agreed!

I have looked at hundreds of fabric swatches now, I just want something fairly understated but stylish eg silver/charcoal/aqua geometric or floral pattern but not finding anything. Did find some lovely Harlequin curtain trimmings in raspberry but not really essential

I love duck egg and string pink together and I think the grey walls will just serve as a lovely backdrop to them both. I would def try & find something in duck egg print for your curtains as your sofa is bold but plain. Don't play too safe it just ends up boring!

I think that would look quite nice, you don't need a lot of colour:
