We have 2 x Ikea Ektorp two seater sofas, bought seven years ago when we were in a flat. Now in a house with a bigger lounge. Colour of Ektorps doesn't match current colour scheme but covers can be changed.
Am undecided whether to change covers or get a whole new sofa, probably modular or corner type, ideally with a built in sofa bed.
Some questions!
- Would you recommend a corner or modular sofa in general? If so, any specific ones?
- Where can I get covers for Ektorp, other than Ikea? A bigger choice of colours and fabrics would be good.
- What would best suit our room?
We currently have one sofa against a wall, the other is at right angles to that one and acts as a room divider between rest of open plan downstairs. Window just has a radiator below it and fireplace is on chimney breast on the remaining wall. TV is in corner in a pretty fixed position. (I'm not a fan of current trend of tvs hung on wall where fireplace used to be.)
What I dislike about the current set up is that the two seaters are too small to stretch out on and DP and I end up sitting on a different sofa and
We currently have a sofa bed in spare room but looking ahead, that'd become DS's room if we hopefully have a second baby and his current room would become the nursery. We have ILs and other relatives who visit regularly and use that sofa bed so would need an alternative in the long term. A fourth bedroom would be the ideal solution but that's not gonna happen!
Thanks!
