What colour should I paint my small sitting room?

It's a small room that doesn't get much light and is painted in cream colours nw but just feels tired and cold.

I have a grey sofa so today bought some green cushion covers from ikea to jazz it up a bit (it's one of those sofa's that as several scatter cushions rather than a stuffed back).


I also have two long cushions with greens/purples/pinks in the pattern.

I want to do something to th walls to make it less cold looking. Was thinking of a good quality print wallpaper on one wall but then what colour would you pant the walls? Am I just going to make it all matchy matchy?

Oh, and it's quite cottag-like. Small open fire, wooden floor.
