What do you think of this wallpaper?

sanderson finches this one shows it a bit more clearly and this one is a different colour but the same design .

We are hoping to get it for our dining room, on all walls but one wall is all units so won't have any paper on it, another wall has a window taking up most of the wall and another has a big fireplace so it's not as overpowering as it sounds. I have been in love with it for months, but now we're at the point of actually going for it I'm having wobbles about it and whether to go for it or not. I'm hoping it's just last minute nerves. Do you think it's a traditional/classic wallpaper or fashionable one? I really want something which won't date and am nervous about picking something I love now but will hate in a few years. What do you think?

Wallpaper tends to be renewed every few years anyway, so going on the fact that you love it right now Reastie I would go for it. It's a very pretty paper I really like the colour and design without being over the top.
As for the 'fashion' element, well I've never followed that either. Just be yourself, be individual, and enjoy it!

Thanks eccentric I'm just panicking and now wondering whether I really do like it or not, which is odd considering I've been desperate to use it for about a year Confused

I personally prefer the blue to the yellow one - but I tend to go for blue/green/purple anyway!
You say you're panicking about liking it or not -is there anything in particular about the paper right at this moment that's leaping out at you, for you to feel like this?

yes we would go for the blue one eccentric. I don't know re: ypur question. Initially I loved the birds and the tree/branch design in the background but I think I'm more worried 'what if I dislike the design in the future and I'm stuck with it' rather than disliking it IYKWIM. We want it to last and don't intend to redo the paper for at least 10 years so I'll be stuck with it, not like a coat of paint I can just change easily. I think that's what's stresseing me out as I've never actually picked a wallpaper for a 'main' room before (only for the spare room which I rarely go in). We've been through books of hundreds of papers and always come back to this one. Hopefully that's good sign...

Yes, it sounds like a good sign to me too.

To be honest, I may not be the right person to advise you as I tend to go for the 'here and now' aspect (and I'm an artist and paint my own designs onto my walls and furniture anyhow), rather than the long lasting scenario that you are describing. I also tend to pick what pleases me, rather than be dictated to by the fashionistas - after all, what do they know. Fashion changes because of new designs but also it's market driven for profit . So listen to yourself, and be guided by the fact that you keep returning to it.

You love it, so have it,and enjoy it !
