Bunk bed advice

We want to buy a bunk bed for DDs (4 and 5). John Lewis had a really nice white wooden one for £325 but it's out of stock so we're trying to find a similar one (for the same or less money) somewhere else.

Ikea do an ugly metal one for £99 but if it's really sturdy I suppose we could get that, Dreams do a twee pine one for £199 but it looks a bit naff.

Any thoughts??

We got this one from Ikea for our boys. They've had it about a year and it's well worth it. Very sturdy & comfortable (dh & I have slept there on occasion!).

Only downside is that the wood is untreated so I would recommend varnishing or painting it as our one does look a bit grubby now.

It's higher than your budget but stompa beds look rather nice.

Have seen the Julien Bowen in the flesh and it is v nice.

Ordered these ones in the end, due to arrive in 2 weeks. Saw other beds made by the same manufacturer and they looked lovely quality.

They were 399 from a local bed shop.

We bought a basic pine bunk bed from Argos about £120. That was 5 years ago and it's still good as new

I vote for the Julian Bowen Barcelona bunk bed. Both in white and antique pine for £249. There are lots of stockists.
I am all bunk bedded out after researching for weeks and weeks for our 6yo and 3yo. We have finally gone for the Julian Bowen in antique pine.

I am currently lusting after this www.sleeplandbeds.co.uk/cameo-deluxe-bunk-beds-with-storage
for my girls, have to wait till we've moved and I've saved up though.

I really like the look of the Joseph Oasis Bunk Bed cos of the storage. It seems a little bit cheaper than some of the bunks with shelves. Has anyone else seen them/got one?

We have Thuka ones - they were just under £600 but will separate and be proper beds - so theoretically we will never have to buy the boys beds again. Plus it is beautifully sturdy and well made. You can buy additional items to make them into cabin beds too. You may be able to get second hand ones on ebay so I thought it was worth mentioning even if the new ones are out of your budget.

Another vote for Thuka here. We have had ours for 4 years, and they are wonderful. I have had a little google, and found a good deal on them here. The ones we have have a straight ladder, which is slightly more space saving.

I have the John lewis, very disappointed, all screw holes and screws visible. Wished i had bought from feather and black or m and s.

It's a bit more pricey but as and when we need them, we are going to get the Warren Evans bunk bed as their beds are REALLY sturdy and this one breaks up into two full sized single beds so you'll get wear out of them.

We have some from Feather and Black. They are great but very high so need to have a high ceiling so can sit up in upper bunk!

We have the Joseph bunk beds (like this) for 2 x 7 yr olds. Very sturdy, look really nice and can be divided into 2 beds at such time as they go in their own rooms. Have been really impressed.
