31 weeks pregnant with DC1 so trying to get the Small Person's room organised...
Furniture is dark wood: www.preciouslittleone.com/product-information/47/9582/kub-walda-3-piece-furniture-room-set/
Walls are painted a cheapo colour copy of Farrow & Ball Tunsgate Green: www.farrow-ball.com/tunsgate-green/colours/fcp-product/100250

Thinking of using lots of primary colours in blankets etc to "funk it up" but am really stuck on what fabric to use for the Roman blinds. I thought I had hit on a winner with this map of the world fabric (not to 'baby', educational): www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-world-map-fabric-blue/p231728533 but having discussed with 2 friends they said it is too boyish. Do you think?
So, then I thought about this one as the colours would work: www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-mans-best-friend-fabric/p167949 but having mentioned to same 2 friends they didn't seem very enamoured...

Any ideas would be most gratefully received as I am so fed up looking!!

I had the same problem - we had twins and didn't find out the sex - our nursery is also green themed. However I decided that because they would be in our room for the first few months, that we would wait and see what sex they were before buying curtains / blinds. Would that not be an option for you?

Yes, I had thought about that too. Only 'problem' I see is that I would be feeding DC in their bedroom during the night (as it's right next door to our bedroom which is totally impractical for feeding) and whilst no-one can see in the window, the light coming in might wake up the DC. Not sure if that is a rational concern or not?

The map fabric is great and absolutely not a 'boys' thing.

What about the quentin blake parrots (Osborne & Little so my DH won't let me buy it...). I think they only do wallpaper at John Lewis but you can get fabric elsewhere. here

Like the mans best friend pattern pattern very much but not my favourite colours.

Think the maps are lovely and calming.

if you like the fantastic parrots mentioned above but want a cheaper option i thought these birds were quite bright. www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-stick-birds-fabric-multi/p231628199

John Lewis have fabric books with very fun prints ...can't remember the makes.... Loads of choice of colours and unisex options. just not visible on line..you may have already looked through them

The maps, as far as I can see it's blue sea and pink country borders, totally unisex.

Add soft butterfly's and flowers for a girl and have a David Attenborough feel or boats and light houses for a boy.

DD1s room's always been blue, jungle when small and soft duck egg now she's older.

DD2s is pink and lilac, but a lot of that is simply so as to be different to sister.

And that room already had perfectly usable pink velvet curtains on two odd sized windows.

I don't like dogs much and I think the colours in that one would are too dark and too limiting for a child's room.

They will collect loads of bright junk and spoil your colour scheme.

Also you will just end up feeding sitting in your bed, believe me an upright chair in a nursery at 3am won't appeal at all.

The map print is lovely and I find it quite depressing that anyone would see it as "boyish"! Girls like exploring too Wink but seriously it'll stand the test of time and you won't get sick of it.

DD's room is woodland themed, lots of trees.

I like the map fabric but it's a little serious for me what about something like this
Animals www.kidsfabrics.co.uk/nature-trail-paintbox.html
Or Zoo www.kidsfabrics.co.uk/escape-paintbox.html
or birds
www.kidsfabrics.co.uk/birdhouse-mango-fabric.html
Or just colours
www.kidsfabrics.co.uk/brushstrokes-fabric-from-prestigious.html
Or look through the website there's loads of bright unisex stuff
