These are a giant yellow rose cake and associated bee cake pops I made for my daughter's 4th birthday. She's obsessed with yellow. I'd never piped a flower before this so I was delighted. Not sure if this counts as sugar craft though?

I am aware of the irony that it's not cake...

I love decorating cakes. It takes ages to do but is very satisfying. The cubes I made for my sons christening cake were the only proper sugarcraft I have done, birthday cakes, christmas cakes etc are just fondant icing. I would love to have a proper book for inspiration and direction - so far Google is my teacher!

In my house I do great cupcakes and DH does great big cakes. He's never had a lesson envy. This one was for DS2 1st bday last year.

A very amateur attempt - but ds(5) was very happy with it!

I'm a hobby sugarcrafter and have just used books and YouTube to develop my skills. The photos are of 2 recent children's birthday cakes I made for friends, as well as the christening cake I made for my daughter with pleated fondant and my handmade gumpaste roses and hydrangeas :-)
