They are looking for checkout assistants at my nearest large Tesco and as it is the only job that doesn't want experiance I was going to apply.

It says various shifts avaiable between 7am and 10pm.

Does anyone know what these shift patterns are likly to be as I'd like to be able to put down what I know they are looking for but at the same time there are certain hours/days that I can't work.

I know someone that has just recently started working for Sainsbury's and is only available for certain hours of the day (due to child in school) they seem happy and willing to do this.

You would be best to be straight with them and say when you are available. If you say you are flexible and then change your mind once you start working there, they won't be impressed

Good Luck!

I think the supermarkets tend to be fairly 'flexible' in terms of which shifts you can choose to work - mainly because they have a lot of students, and mums working for them so have to be flexible.

ARSE have just noticed it is temp for 12 weeks. It does say possibility of permanant employment though.

Oh bugger, don't fancy getting ds settled into nursery and then having to take him out again.

Why is nothing ever simple.

I think you should apply anyway, a permanent position may become available.
