Does anyone have any recommendations? Am I even allowed to ask about this on mumsnet? Thanks, Dinny.

Bossykate, just thought I'd let you know I have a place at the nursery you recommended me a while ago. Saw it after looking at sooo many others that I hated. So, a big thank you for the tip. Dinny x

that's excellent, dinny, hope your little one is as happy there as mine is at the other branch

Bossykate - I only know of one nursery in Tooting that has another branch nearby - the other (original) nursery is in Clapham. Just wondered if your little one is at the same nursery as mine (EP)?

Hi to all, just wanted/needed to say that my dd had her first day (well, hour) at nursery today. Was awful (for me) - she cried when I left and when I returned (and in-between). Please, someone tell me the gut-wrenching angst about leaving them goes away.... Dinny

it really does. just wait till she doesn't want to come home with you at the end of the day...

good luck with the settling in period

How old was your son when started, bossykate? Leave dd for two hours tomorrow - dreading it, may got to gym to take mind off it.

he was 4 1/2m - long story! so the initial settling in was more about establishing my confidence in the nursery than settling him in as he was still so young... he has been clingy and difficult to leave at certain times since (he is 2 now), linked either to developmental stages or to change (e.g. coming back from holiday, moving up to a new room).

how old is your dd?

16 months - though glad of time at home with her, part of me wishes she'd gone there at 3-4 months, to avoid the trauma now. She's starting in the 18 month-2.5 year group even though she's a bit young. Just seems so grown-up, hope she'll cope. :-(
