Bloody Bastard Boss

Well, i think my title says it all. The bloody bastard boss from hell has just declined my request to go back to work part-time "after careful consideration". My arse. I am so pissed off because his reasons are perfectly plausible to outsiders so there is no way I can challenge him, even though I happen to know he is a big fat liar and he could accommodate me if he wanted to, But he doesnt want to because we fell out just before I started maternity leave.

Hopefully this will become academic if we move oooop north and I can tell him where to shove it, but I am having serious 2nd thoughts about relocating, but now this has happened I feel like I may as well because I am being forced out of my job here anyway. Bastard.

It pisses me off that I have worked so hard to get where I am and then I have just become another statistic. Just another poor cow forced to choose between her kids and job. it's like everything I have worked for has just been wiped out because I know that when the kids start school if I go back to work then it will be at a much lower level.

You poor thing. I really feel for you. My p/t request is currently being considered and I know how much it means. I really hope you can find another job and tell him where to shove his.

Well I wish you luck, It was so unexpected so it was a complete kick in the nuts to be turned down. He made me feel like such a fool, completely patronising me when explaining that he would love to help "my situation" but just couldnt. I just wanted to run around shouting liar liar pants on fire.

I am thinking about going back and resigning on day one and then just pulling sickies and being completely disruptive whilst working my notice. I will also tell EVERYONE about the day my boss shat in his pants at work..........

havent got any experience of this, just want to commiserate as my boss is a complete t*t too. Was informed that he thinks of me as a mother and not a proper teacher. Ooh the joys of motherhood!

This makes me smile everytime I think about it - everyone who knows me knows him not by name but as the man who shat in his pants.

We used to have an open plan office and all the team sat in desks close by each other with him at the back. One day I realised that he had called another colleague who sat right in front of h im - seemed a bit odd that he just didnt speak out loud to him. Then I noticed the other guy smirking and then getting up and then he walked right behind my boss - strangely closely, and they walked out of the office together.

I thought maybe they were off to have gay sex or something, but apparently my boss called him up and said "hi Steve, sorry about this but I have just shat myself, so please could you walk behind me to the loo."

Steve came back alone, pissing himself laughing, and started phoning and emailing everybody he knew and then our boss came back. Most disturbingly he chose to share with Steve that he would be going commando until lunchtime when he would nip out to buy some pore pants. NICE.

some very disgruntled teachers who are leaving, and I dont blame them, are dropping frozen prawns in certain places around the school. Not any where near the children but headmasters radiator, accounts room etc. It is going to absolutely stink. I know this is very juvenille but staff have been treated so badly, I dont really blame them.

NeedMoreShoes, did he give any proper explanation as to why your application was rejected? You know you have the right to appeal don't you?

Yes he gave "proper" reasons so there is no point appealing. Frankly I dont know how the legislation really helps anyone, because all the employers have to say is that they would need to recruit someone else to fill the p/t gap and that would be costly and detrimental to them. Easy peasy.

I'm sorry to hear about your job, but the story about Mr Shatinhispants has given me the best laugh tonight, as did Operation Prawn.
