I an bloody hopeless at filling them in.

I've completed most of it but I've got to give a brief(ish) statement about why I'm applying for the post and what qualities and experience that would make me an ideal candidate for the job.

A few pointers:

It's working for a very large organisation that offers full in house training and a vocational qualification ( PSV)

I have worked in transport before and enjoyed it but having a child put paid to that, long hours etc.

I need a proper job with decent wages and prospects.

I have excellent driving skills. No points on licence.

Good people skills and really enjoy working with the public.

Numerate and literate.

Cash handling experience.

Would welcome a career change ( just had to resign from last shitty job)

Eager to learn etc.

Am confident, friendly approachable.

Something I've achieved that I'm really proud of.

Can anyone help me put this in a couple or so paragraphs as I really want to be successful in getting an interview,

Hi there,
Basically, in this section they want you to drip-feed them the reasons why you're perfect for the job.

Instead of thinking about how you describe yourself & your achievements in an essay, look at the person specification and job description documents that I'm sure that the employer has provided.

Take each point that they want & think about how you meet that requirement in terms of experiences, qualifications, skills & abilities. Describe how you meet each requirement - be specific ie give examples.

If you don't meet a particular requirement, you could just omit that point & hope that the rest is enough, or you could say that you've done x or y which is similar, because....

Good luck Smile

Thank you CareersDragon. I did submit my application today but saw a different person in the office. He looked at my application and said they were only hiring qualified bus drivers, funny as I was told they provided training when I spoke to the manager on Monday.
A driver overheard the conversation and took me to one side and said that they do provide training and he was talking twaddle , also said he'd speak to the manager tomorrow. He said the money wasn't great but a few drivers had been suspended after failing their yearly driving assessments. Fingers crossed.
Will apply to National Express tomorrow and also see if there are any jobs on the Trams.

Great news! I have an interview and driving assessment on Saturday, any recommendations as to where I can purchase some brown trousers ( for me and the assessor)?

Passed my assessment, no probs despite having little sleep as police were called to next door in the early hours. I'm so up for a new challenge.
