Dd turns 2 next month. I was lucky to get a part time job that has been really flexible for the last year, but the funding for the role is uncertain after Aug, so I started looking around. Found me a perfect job, really local but it's full time. Anyway I applied, got short listed and interviewed and got offered the job! Yeay me!
Except I feel really sad that I'll be going from 4 days with dd only 2 Hmm
Tell me I'll feel better about it, at some point! please!

I do condenced hours, so full time over 4 days. It did get better. But I am struggling with the evening hours and wondering whether i'll be a bad parent doing 5 days.

Horrible isn't it.

I was thinking of starting early so I can finish early, but then I remembered that I'm going to be working with kids who are mostly at school, so I'll need to see them after school time, so there goes finishing early. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to manage away from my dd. I miss her alreadyConfused
It's just horrible and feels totally unfair.

hey. i am currently working part time (4 days a week) in a job i hate. I mean i literally dread it 24/7. Even the days i dont work im worrying about coming back.

I have been looking for other part time work but i need the right hours, the right money and right location and it needs to be the right job.

I have been looking for three months!!! Its like looking for a needle in a haystack and a thousand other people are looking for it too!!!

So i applied for a couple of full time roles. But obviously that will mean i give up my friday with my son.

I feel awful about it but it would mean a considerable jump up in finances and we could really do with the money.

Im sure he will be fine. I just have serious mothers guilt. I also feel bad for myself. I love that by thursday I know im nearly done for the week.
If its sunny i have that extra day in the park with my son etc etc.

And im such a homebody, i just love hanging out there as much as possible.

So hard to know what the right thing to do is.

Hi Jenni, I'm so with you. The working world does not support part time parenting, which means our babies are looked after by others. Surely there should be some way of changing this. X
