I work Mon/Tues/Fri so I have two days off in a row to spend quality time with my little monster.

You might want to think about bank holidays. When I worked part time I had additional holiday but if a bank holiday was on my working day I had to use annual leave. Maybe check with your HR dept to work out what would be more advantageous for you.

I do 4 days now but used to do 3. I found or best to do Mon, Tue, Thu, or Tue, Wed Fri.

It is definitely easier to keep on top of the house and family by splitting the work days up so not all together. With my job it's also good to have Friday off as that tends to be a day that a lot of part timers don't work so people are less inclined to try and organise meetings then. It's also worth checking what the rules are with back holidays. At my work if they're not days you work you simply don't get them - so well worth making sure Monday is a work day. But a lot of places pro rata them I think so it doesn't matter.

I like having Mondays off to recover and get the house back in order after the weekend and Fridays off so if we want to go away for the weekend or at HT we can go as soon as DCs finish school on the Friday (Dh can usually manage to "work from home")

3 days in a row - then you've 3 work days, 4 home days. Depends what the job is - if you are likely to think of it on a off day, then I think a split working week would be a nightmare.

Tuesday Wednesday Thursday by far my fave combination. I liked the four day weekend and also getting my Monday bank holiday quota added onto my annual leave - so much holiday !!

Also though I found I got much more work done compared to other working patterns. Monday can be a bit slow, lots of people off, not quite planned their week, so It was a bit of a waste of a day. And Friday people skived off and weren't available, also a bit of a waste.
