Is anyone a physiotherapist?

I'm looking to eventually career change and this is one of the jobs I'm looking at. Can anyone tell me what it's like? I've also read that getting on a course is competitive and wondered how they look at 'mature, students.
Thanks in advance

I can't give you direct advice as a physio but if you are concerned about course availability etc then I would say contact a few uni's and find out what their policies are and what the ratio of mature students to school-leavers is on their physio course.

I am a non-practising physio so can't really help too much. I trained in NZ straight out of school but haven't practised since 1997.
I would recommend contacting some of the schools (uni's) you might be interested in attending and asking about their entry criteria, what you need to have as a mature student, what ratio of mature students are accepted of the total number of applicants (criteria is generally different). Sorry can't really help too much more. Good luck if this is what you decide to do. May I advise that if you have ever had wrist injuries or 'weak wrists' you may find it tough as it gave me such bad tendonitis in my wrists I had to change careers.
