Hope someone can help. DP has just discovered (long story) a debt of about £1000 and this debt really needs to ce cleared ASAP.... he is willing to work many hours for 1 month (April) as he will be off-work his usual job for that month anyway. Has anyone got any suggestion as to what he could do... it has to be temporary employment, no skill needed (though he has some like marketing).
Thanks.

Although it doesn't pay brilliant, if he can get at a busy pub he can fit a hell of alot of hours in.

Marketing.
What sort of money do you earn in a pub? I don't think he'd be keen on the smoke buit for the £1000 he might make the effort.

I think factory night shifts would probably be the best bet. An agency may be able to help.

Go to a temp agency - if he has office skills these will pay more per hour than bar work - he could even do a temp office job in the day (data processing, filing clerk should pay minimum £6-7/hour - assuming your in South East here) and then bar or factory work in the evenings.
He might even be able to get a job using his marketing skills - tell him to go along to office Angels or Reed

Sperm Donation?
(Only half joking. DP signed up for it to clear debts just before we met...but I am very pleased I stopped him actually carrying it through, it would feel v odd having lots of unknown half siblings for DS)

I have rung one agency to find out a bit more so will need to tell him!
Sperm donation??? How much do you get for that?

Hi Twigglett
We're not in London but in the South East - he could commute for a little while I guess.
He was in marketing comms.
Would these people only hire for a month though?

Cabbying? How long does it take to get a licence?
Gardening, decorating. I need my garden doing desperately, where are you?

Sorry I haven't been on the forum all day.
Secondhandrose - I know that cabbying around here does not pay well. We are in Surrey but DP is poor at gardening - I do all of it.

Any chance he could teach economics or accountancy or something? Probably a long shot, but Easter Revision pays very well (I used to get almost a grand for one week a couple of years ago).

Twiglett - did you ever hire people from that agency? DP hasn't worked in MKTG Comms for about 5 years.... so maybe they won't find him attractive ???
Jimjams.... yes he could teach a few things.... how do you go about doing this ? Do you contact colleges/Grammar schools and alike ????

Sweetypie there are loads of adverts in the papers at the moment. Look in any of the broadsheet education sections. They are advertising for students but most colleges are likely to need tutors as well. Lots of different centres. I'd type Easter Revision into google as well. Where are you? If anywhere near London then get in contact with all the tutorial colleges, I can give a list of likely suspects. or contact CIFE (should be on google) and they'll be able to supply a list.
