Hi

I am a single mum of 2 boys who are 2 and 4 in October. I am currently work Pt in a school but am seriously considering starting to work from home as i am suffering with depression and the stress of my job is to much. I was wandering if anyone on here works from home and if so what kind of work? Baring in mind i need to do a minimum of 16 hours and earn around £500pm. I am very disciplined and my children will be in childcare during the day. My work history is in admin which i hold qualifications is.

So is it possible to work from home??? And what sort of thing can i do???........

I have no idea, sorry not helpful I know. I think lots of people would like to know the answer to that! Can I ask why it is stressful working part time in a school?

Hi Gabbym87
I'm really sorry you've been suffering with stress - but I'm glad you've decided to do something positive about it rather than ignoring it and hoping it will go away.

Have you thought about doing freelance work, perhaps with Elance (//www.elance.com)? It's an online marketplace for matching up jobs with freelancers across the world, so you can work from home. The way it works is that businesses post jobs, inviting freelancers registered with Elance to submit proposals for their jobs. You'd need to register with Elance (it's free) and create your profile where you can list your key skills, qualifications, job history, etc. When I looked just now, one of the categories for jobs was Admin support, and there were quite a lot of jobs posted.

Alternatively, if you wanted to do your own thing, have you thought about starting a web business from home? If you're interested, you might want to take a look at a thread on the Small Business Ads forum (Talk topics > Classified > Small Business ads) called "How to earn money doing a job you love ... AND get time off whenever you want ..."

Hope this is helpful, and good luck! Smile
