...on benefits, and I really want to make a difference. I love children and I like making them laugh and I can always get them interested in things...
I got 2 A levels in 1992!! and work 22 hours a week, my two DC's are in school, STBEXH left last year and I want to make something of my life.
Teaching has always always appealed to me, I volunteer at a local rainbows group and have done for 18 months and I want to take the next BIG leap!
I've looked at university courses, how the heck do I afford it?

is it primary or secondary you'd like? subject? first and foremost you need to get as much classroom experience as possible. start making calls etc to local schools now.

have you looked at the open university? I have one more year to go for my degree with them and its been great.

they offer loans for all the fees now and it will cost you £15,000 for your entire degree, there's also a deal where you can get your first course for £75.

this way, you'd keep your job, the children wouldn't have to change anything but you do have to give up your evenings for a few years

Hi, it's primary I want to do, I haven't a degree so it would have to be the full three year course. I'd like to specialise in Religious Education (purely as it fascinates me!) I've asked for work experience at the school where my DC's go, hoping to hear back from them very soon, though they say it may not be til September which is understandable. There's only one other school here that I could go to, ex's OW's kids go there so both he and she would be hopping mad if I did work experience there!
Does the open university also do teacher training ?? I shall have a look, thank you!
