First "proper" job interview for many years ... what will they ask?

Been invited to interview for an accounts/finance job in a school. Am looking at school's prospectus/website to try and "gen up" on it but does anyone have any ideas on what questions they will ask me? Am feeling very nervous about it ... TIA

They will ask what you know about the school so that's good that you're reading up. The generic what can you bring to the role/strengths weaknesses?
Have some good questions ready as that will be the last thing you discuss
Good luck :)

I had an interview (not at a school though) a few weeks ago and they asked me to tell them a little about myself so it's good to have prepared a brief summary so you don't stammer and stumble.

Great, thank you! Frantically trying to think of questions to ask now ... why is DH always away when I need to pick his brain?!

I'd like to know, too, 2 proper interviews in next month. First proper ones in FIFTEEN years for me.

!

(and how do I choose if I get offered both??!!)

Pick the one you felt suited you best. An interview is not just for them, it's also so you can find out if you like the sound of the job.

I've always asked questions about the possibility of training or promotion at some point but you don't want them to think you're thinking of leaving the job before you've even started!

I'm really stuck on questions like:

"Tell us about a time
or
Describe a situation
when you influenced/motivated/inspired someone

(or led a team
had to plan a project
solved a problem
had a difficult decision)

etc. My main work experience is so far behind me that I can't remember any particular anecdotes for those.

Don't think I've ever led a team, anyway (gulp).

I hate those questions ;-)

I suppose you can make it up a little bit, the questions are just to test if you know how to react in certain situations.
