Work

Proofreading. Can anyone recommend best way to study/learn/train?

I'm a SAHM with a degree in literature. I'm a health care professional but not sure I can or want to go back to work in this area. I have two children, both will be at school from September.

So, self employment and working from home is a good option (like half the universe!)

I'm interested in proof reading (not kidding myself it is straightforward and easy and all about grammar) but I'm a little ignorant too about how long it may take to train and get practise and finally get to earn cash!

Any advice at all? Long distance learning? Day course? Etc etc

I did the Publishing Training House long distance course. It's recommeneded by the SfPE.

You then have to set up your own business, by selling your services to publishing houses etc.

There is virtually no work, and competition is fierce.

In the end, I just went back to work doing what I did before (scientist).

Stick to healthcare.
