After ds was born I went back to teaching flute and piano. There had been quite a gap and it took a while to get a practice back together.

Anyway - I entered my first 3 pupils for practical exams - and they all passed. 1 pass and 2 merits.

They are at school, so I can't tell them and I needed to tell someone....

Congratulations! It's a pity you are so far, otherwise I would be asking your details to send DS (in some years ) to have some lessons.

One of the merits sounded disappointed on the phone. I blame the exam system in schools were you can't fail to undermining exams that have kept their standard and do regularly fail people.

In contrast the pass was delighted.

The examiner was quite clear what they have to work on to pass the next grade, he was also clear which pieces could be played in a concert and those which required more work.

7 Students sit theory exams next week, so it will be interesting to see what my result board is looking like then.
