Mature person highly experienced in the use and teaching of Windows and Microsoft Office (Microsoft Certifications held), also with a great deal of experience in book-keeping, seeks freelance work, short-term or long-term.
I have been self employed for many years, and am highly capable in administration, book-keeping, invoicing, VAT, credit control, use and set-up of spreadsheets, databases, Word templates etc.
I can work at your premises or my own, anything legal considered.
Please contact ?..

I could get contract work through an agency, but as dh is away Mon-Fri I want to control my own hours to fit with school, and stay relatively local.
I was thinking of placing this in the city's main evening paper, though would like to make it visible to small businesses, so any suggestions for where to place the ad would be welcomed.

Or is this just a stupid idea?

I saw a feature in Red magazine about a year ago about people who offer these sorts of services and work for several people (from home) at once. There was a generic name for the service provided and I can't remember what it was. I'll have a look on the website to see if I can find the feature.

Cheers Otto. I just know that there are small businesses out there who need my skills, but don't want to pay a full time salary for these things.

All I need is a way to let them know I'm here.

I've just checked the Red website and they don't have a features archive. It was one of those downshifting features that featured several women and one of them offered the sorts of services that you are considering. She had children and found it fitted in well with her lifestyle. I'm sure there was a professional body representing workers which also ran courses and gave advice - if only I could remember what it was called. Sorry, this isn't much help, but I do think it's a good idea. Small businesses often need that kind of help, but can't afford, or don't have enough work to employ somebody full- or even part-time.
