Im starting nursing at uni on monday and I feel awful about leaving ds Everyone keeps telling me he wil be fine and I know he will but I just feel like Im letting him down.He is very much a mummys boy at the mo, has started crying when I drop him off for visits at nursery. Although he is fine when I am gone all I remember is him crying which makes me feel worse. He was fine the first few times I took him (has been having visits a couple days for about 6 weeks) so why is he now upset? He is having his longest visit tomorrow (4hrs) hopefully he will be ok. For the first 2 weeks of my course Im in 3.5 days then after that its 2.5 so not too bad really.I will have to drop him off at 8 and dp will pick him up at 3.30 apart from my half day when Ill pick him up at 1.30.Im better stop now Im going on!!! Just nervous and need reassurance!

hey mummysmilk
you re doing great, good luck with uni and dont fret about your little boy, he'll settle and then you'll be dying to pick him up.

Please don't beat yourself up - someone once said to me that it's much harder for you than it is for them. You are doing something brilliant for your ds - learning.
Does the nursery take video or pics of the kids so that you can see that he's having a good time when you're not there - that really helped me.
Good luck!

I'm about to face the same thing. It's just so hard isn't it? Everyone tells me it gets better. I think we just need to get through these early, difficult days. Best of luck though xxx

Goodluck to you too beansprout! I feel a bit better today, DS had a lovely visit and came home with a painting!Yes the nursery does take pics, havent yet tho but I know they do occasionally. My MIL makes it worse cos she doesnt agree with the whole situation, mind you she doesnt agree with anything I do, not even breastfeeding
