Ds2 (aged 3) came home with a letter from pre-school yesterday saying he's been put on the gifted and talented register

And who else can I tell but you lot?!

Now go on, shoot me down for being all proud..!

I know! I had no idea they could be identified at 3. Seems bizarre - he's been identified as being G&T in literacy (although a friend of mine said it probably stands for gobby and talkative in ds2's case..! )

Very strange. I have no strong opinions at all on the whole G&T thing but the letter we got home didn't go into any details, just that he'd been identified and that the school was looking to put stuff in place over the next couple of years for any child identified.

Probably a way of getting extra money from the LEA...

Gosh 3 is young but hey I bet you are chuffed and absolutely no reason why you shouldnt be. Presume this pre-school is linked to the infants.

Yes, he'll start at the same school in reception in September.

Am proud in a giggly way because it seems so bonkers - he's such a daft thing - not at all serious/clever, but has started to read and write and is good at word stuff.

But still falls backwards off beds and settees and things like that!!

He will continue to fall backward off beds and settees until around the age of 11 or 12 at a push
