Gifted and talented

Shameless boast, here's the only place I can do it!

My ds is in reception and is in a mixed reception and y1 class. His reading record showed he'd been moved up a level (to gold) yesterday so I went to get him a couple of books today, they don't have any in his class, he's to have his own basket of books from upstairs, his teacher is the G&T co-ordinator and said that he's probably the best reader they've ever had!
Think parents evening should be ok tonight as his maths and behaviour are very good too.
I know this is a shameless boast and I know that this may not last etc etc, but from 18 months to 4 he was really hard work and still occasionally is so its so lovely to get positive reports on him and I'm a very proud mummy this morning!

Into everything, very lively and excitable. He's physically big and does not respect personal boundaries so he was forever knocking over or scaring smaller kids at nursery as he wanted to cuddle or jump on them. He's never malicious but the analogy to a big boisterous puppy couldn't be more true where he's concerned!

What a lovely idea for a thread.

OP, it's great to hear about your DS. Can I join in with a boast of my own? My DS age 7 has just been made a free reader! I'm so proud of him, but like you I don't want to show off in rl.
