DD (age 5) vomited several times in the night last night & I think it was winter vomiting virus. No diorrhea though & she is not specially ill with it. Is this going around right now?

Yes it is going around at the moment.
I work in a school & several of the children & parents have been effected.
It seems pretty nasty, so I am giving my ds an actimel drink in his packed lunch every day!

I have no idea what the best thing is. My dd brought up her tea on Sunday evening and then could not even keep water down on Monday. Was very scary for me as a first time mum. Bu hv said it could last a while. Perhaps give him a little more and see what happens and then at least you'll know for sure. If it is and he does get worse I would start giving him water by syringe if you can get one. I was told to do that by the doc and its really helped.

This could well be the virus colditzmum.
He may not want 2 eat, but if he does stick 2 bland food like toast & ricecakes.
As long as he is getting plenty of fluids he should be fine though.

Some good advice after vomiting is try to rest the stomach for 24 hours ie no food or milk if possible. If you give food then dry toast or biscuits are good ones to try.

Juice is a bad idea, milk is worse - water is OK but sips are best! If dehydration is an issue then flat normal coke is more palatable than rehydration solutions.

Dd's virus seems to have been quite mild & short lived thank goodness!
