Very itchy, tender spots on hands and need advice please!!

Have been getting the odd one or two which started about three months ago. They are red, itchy and don't develop into anything, they don't weep, they just go into a smaller less itchy, tender spot. In the last four weeks, it's got worse where I am waking up with new ones 2-3 times per week, even have a cluster of them on one finger. I did wonder if it was a wart but they don't have a red dot blood supply which warts usually have.

Shall make an appointment to see a Dermatologist but wondered if any MNer had experienced this or knew what it was? I have not changed any washing powder, my diet, etc, nothing has in fact changed.

Thank you so much VeryBusyMum! I have today woken up with 5 more of these spots. Have looked at the link and will start off with treating one hand with the 1% hydrocortisone while I look for a Dermatologist.
