have had twinges and aches in my womb for last 3/4 days. also feel very bloated, which i don't usually get with my periods but i know a lot of women do and am wondering if i'm going to start getting this. I've lost a little bit of weight recently and my trousers were all getting quite lose but i can hardly do the buttons up today! If anyone does suffer, when do you usually get the bloating? and does it last until you're on? I'm due on around sunday/monday.
also seemed to have my pmt a week early this month - very tearful last week but feel ok this week.
anyone got experience of period signs changing as you get older and/or bloating? ta

gave up ttc recently after no luck for 2 years. Not even vaguely hopeful so more interested in experiences about bloating! don't want to raise any false hopes

How old are you cyril? Things definitely have been getting worse and worse for me (bloating to the extent of looking 6 months pregnant sometimes) - but I'm 40 and pretty much perimenopausal . It's been a gradual increase over the last 3 years or so though, along with increased pmt, explosive boobs etc.

No -not at all (there are many more lovely symptoms to perimenopause that I didn't bother boring you with, also it can take 10 years or more to actually reach menopause - just lots of extra crap to deal with on the way ).
It's just that I don't know about you, but I expected periods to be pretty much the same from adulthood to middle age, and they don't.

The bloating for me is far far worse if I'm under stress, but definitely happens about 10 days or so before my period. I haven't found evening primrose oil much help but I'm persevering.

agree about expecting periods to stay the same. After dd i had a coil and went to see the fpc doctor when my periods got very heavy and i blamed the coil. i remember saying to her 'well i've never had periods this heavy before' to which she replied 'yes but you've also never had a baby before either - nothing's the same after that!'
don't feel as bloated to day but still definitely porky. back's started to hurt now as well.

Black Cohosh can help the womb aches - Evening Primrose Oil can help the other symptoms - sounds like you are having a horrid time.
