Meningitis - update No. 2

Thanks again.
The news today is that she does have a form of meningitis, but they are not sure if it is viral or bacterial. They are treating her for both and she is getting stronger and is much more alert.
We may be in for another 5 to 10 days as the antibiotics are given through a drip, but at least she is definately on the mend.
There are possible side affects but we are not worrying about them at the moment - we just want our baby home and happy.
Thank you all for your kind words, i don't know any of you, but it is so nice to be able to chat on here.
I have just had my first cup of tea since sunday and am feeling much more relaxed.
I am back tonight so will update you all then.
Thanks for all your thoughts ()

I've been following your story Fee77 - what a nightmare. It's shocking that she does have a form of meningitis, but I'm so glad she's recovering.

Fee77 - I too am following your story. It really is every parents nightmare. At least they now know and are treating the condition. Thank goodness she is on the mend and I look forward to the thread called:

Sorry to hear it is meningitis, but such good news she is improving. Take care of yourselves, it's very disorientating looking after a baby in hospital so hugs to you.

fee at least you have a diagnosis and dd can be treated (though horrid that is IS meningitis )

Here's wishing your dd a very speedy recovery. Make sure you look after yourself too, you need more cups of tea!
