Mid-cycle bleeding - 8 days & counting!

It started like a relatively light period last Sunday which was CD14 & therefore just before/after I ovulated. It's mostly bright red blood with a few clots occasionally. Thought it had stopped yesterday but back again today. Initially I told myself it was probably just ovulation bleeding, not that I've ever experienced it before but I didn't want to bother the GP if it was nothing & assumed it would stop after a few days. There was no pain until Friday when it started to feel a little dry. Now definitely feeling quite irritated. As far as I'm aware, I'm otherwise healthy.

I'm 28, DH & I were virgins when we met & I have no reason to think either of us have been with anyone else. Last DTD one week before the bleeding started, with condom but didn't ejaculate anyway. I had a baby 15 months ago, stopped breastfeeding completely 3 months ago but AF had already settled into a 27-29 day cycle, same as pre-pregnancy. Delivery was fine, with a few internal stiches.

I think that's all the relevant information! I'd like a nice list of non-life-threatening things it could be please! Wink Will be on the phone to GP first thing tomorrow but may well not get an appt for a couple of days.

I had similar a few months back (mid cycle bleeding, with quite severe crampy pain). This went on for a few months, so I was referred for an abdo scan. Scan was clear, as was a smear. Radiographer, who did the scan said such bleeds are very common and frequently, no cause is found. I found this reassuring :)

I've been fine since

That's good to hear, thanks Millie! It seems to have stopped today but I thought it had stopped before too... Hopefully this is the end of it! Smile

Urgh. The bleeding's stopped so I decided to go for a wait & see approach & cancelled the appointment. Except the mild discomfort is now a burning sensation & I had a look not that I know what it's supposed to look like & have completely terrified myself that it's a prolapse or polyps or worse! Got to wait until Friday now before I can call in the morning in the hope that they'll have an emergency appointment available. We're supposed to be going on holiday on Friday. This was not part of the plan! Can't believe I was stupid enough to cancel today! Sad
