Warning I have attached a photo of my finger that I have sliced

I have sliced a chunk out of my lettle finger. I did it last night cutting flowers. It bled like mad. It's stopped now but is throbbing. I have stuck a bandage on it as a plaster won't fit over my finger properly. My mum thinks I should get it looked at. What do you think. I can't be arsed with a trip to the drop in centre bi am away from home visiting my mum at the moment.

Tricky one, not sure they could do anything with it other than clean and dress it. Could you do that yourself at home? When you say cutting flowers, you may need a tetanus as the bacteria lives in soil. Why not ask for a telephone appointment with GP or nurse and ask for an opinion?

I didn't think they would be able to do anything. The flowers were just a bunch from morrisons so no soil

It's my dad's bloody fault. He is a chef and his knives are the sharpest things you can imagine

It looks very sore. I would keep a close eye on it and any pus, funny smells or swelling, don't hesitate in seeing the GP. Infections can be very serious. Hope it heals quickly and easily!

Ooh, poor you, that looks sore. I'm not sure much can be done with it other than dressing it and leaving it to heal. You could try asking at a pharmacist they might be able to suggest the best kind of dressing to use.

Please get it seen to. I sliced my little finger badly a couple of months ago. It bled a lot then stopped quite quickly so I put a plaster on it. (small but deep cut) I realised two days later that there was numbness above the cut. Went to doc and was told I had probably damaged a nerve and would need to get it looked at.
I needed an operation to reconnect the nerve, under GA Shock I was lucky I didn't sever the tendon. I couldn't believe such a tiny cut had done so much damage. Point is, when it's a finger injury, it makes sense to get it looked at. That was my experience anyway...
