I've posted on here before for advice. Gp predictably says results are 'normal'. Saw a private endo who immediately diagnosed Hashimotos. I've since had another blood test and T3 has now fallen to below normal range.

ENDOCRINOLOGY
THYROID PROFILE 2.
TOTAL THYROXINE(T4) 93nmol/L 59 - 154
THYROID STIMULATING HORMONE 3.11mIU /L0.27 - 4.2
FREE THYROXINE 16.1pmol/ 12.0 - 22.0
FREE T3 3.6pmol/L 3.1 - 6.8
D.H.E.A. Sulphate 7.6umol /L 0.26 - 11.0
25 OH Vitamin D52nmol /L 50 - 200
Interpretation of results:
Deficient 200 nmol/L

IMMUNOLOGY
THYROID ANTIBODIES.
Thyroglobulin Antibody * 130.6 IU/mL0-115(Negative)
Method used for Anti-Tg: Roche Modular
Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies 18.1 IU/mL 0 - 34
Method used for Anti-TPO: Roche Modular

I've been gluten free for 2 months and in this time have also on the advice of my endo been on adrenal support. I've also got my Vit D up to 70 with supplements. She now feels its time to start Armour but I'm scared, I've had it drummed into me so often from the GP that my thyroid is normal that I've started to question myself and the diagnosis. I've also heard horror stories with side effects to thyroid treatment. After four years of feeling rubbish I've convinced myself it's all in my head and this is going to make me feel worse. Please someone talk some sense into me Flowers

Go on give it a whirl. Youll know soon enough if it doesnt work for you.

I dont know what instructions you have been given, but if you join the Thyroid Patient Advocacy forum, they have a very helpful document which tells you all you need to know about dosing NDT, how to increase the dose and how to find your sweet spot. I believe the secret is to start low and increase gradually. Being on adrenal support should have prepared you for this so Id just give it a try, but be patient. Where people get into difficulties is if they (a) increase too fast and (b) expect an instant result.

With your free thyroxine in the bottom half of the range and your free T3 below range, there is certainly room for improvement, but I can see why the average NHS GP would think you were OK everythings within range, although the positive antibodies are a diagnostic for Hashimotos as you say. Its a shame they dont quite grasp that being within range is not enough you need to be optimal!

I know how you feel, but pretty sure it should be fine. I felt my general productivity improved and I've gained about 2 hours of every day back because I'm not so slow at doing everything. That was taking 30mgs.
good luck!
