Been suffering from bad tirdness and aches for 6 months. And my IBS is very bad. Dr did about 15 blood tests and didn't find that much so referred me to a rheumatologist and gastro person. Saw the rheumatologist today and he made me feel like I was wasting his time. Said my symptoms didn't match up. Nothing wrong with me, maybe CFS but see how it goes. That was it.

He said was hesitant about CFS diagnosis cause I hasn't had a significant illness or stress.

Feel like I wasted his time too.

Oh also kept saying about reading stuff on the net and what was I scared off? I went to the Dr thinking I was deficient.

Your going to need to do a bit of investigation yourself I'm afraid.

Ask your surgery for a print off of your blood test results then post them on here with the reference ranges (figures in brackets)

We might be able to spot something for you.

I was told that my results were 'normal' but further investigation revealed anything but.

Borderline hypothyroid
Borderline pernicious anaemia

Worth checking yourself x

Beat me to it Seagull

I was diagnosed with CFS three times when actually I was hypothyroid, with serious ferritin and vitamin D deficiencies, low vitamin B12 and folate.

Four years later I am completely well.

Could your IBS actually be Coeliacs?

It is often mid diagnosed as IBS and could mean you are low on B12, Vit D, Ferratin, folate, iron - insufficiency of anyone of those things would make you feel dreadful

Who would diagnosis that? I am waiting to see the gastro person. Actually on the sofa now while family and friends having fun outside.

The rheumotologist thought my iron and vit d were good, but i'll get a print out. When I asked before my GP didn't want to give them to because incase I google!

GP should arrange test for Coeliacs.

They also can't refuse to give you your test results so stand your ground!

They can charge you for printing them off though. I am borderline anemic which they totally failed to pick up on when they looked at my last test results. I found that when I looked at them.
Sadly everything else is totally mid-range, meaning I am tiered and aching but with no discernable cause. I don't care how people react when I tell them I have cfs, I know how I feel and what will make me feel worse and thats all that matters in my mind.
I hope they find something they can treat for you though, OP!
