Shoulder blade pain

I have not been able to get any sleep because of how sore my right shoulder blade is. It is sooooo sore. It first started on Saturday morning out of the blue but then it went away. It came back last night and the pain is excruciating. It's not that sore if I stand up or sit up but it is still sore.
Any help please?

It could be refered pain from somewhere else. I would get checked if it's bad definitely.

Yes, get it checked in case of referred pain. Hope it feels better soon!

Shoulder blade pain can be a sign of abdominal problems, as it's to do with where the phrenic nerves converge on the spinal column. Worth getting it checked out (it can be something as simple as trapped wind - Jesus, the pain in my shoulder blades after my c-section was awful. Just needed a good fart...).

Not to scare you but is there any chance you could be pregnant? If the pain is excruciating when lying down then this is a symptom of ectopic pregnancies. I had one a year ago (a managed one) and was told to go to hospital if I felt shoulder blade pain. Anyway hope it has all cleared up now and if there is no chance you could be pregnant then it will be something else altogether.

It is just a symptom most people aren't aware of and as ectopic can be serious it is something to consider and get checked out. Hope all is ok.
