Thanks Lilymaid! Quite fancy a pimms this evening but best not in case I need a tramadol later. First day home, not been too bad, bit sore when I do too much - and I can't lift DD which makes me sad.

I saw my Onc this afternoon. Blood tests good - haemoglobin up, tumour markers show shrinkage Yay!
And he lanced my big toe which I had stubbed on the shower entry earlier in the week resulting in a nasty blood blister!

Zombie checking in. Thanks, Lily.

Very nice Registrar and Senior Breast Clinic Nurse drained 150ml of fluid and Serena Seroma is no more. For now...

CT scan on Tuesday afternoon and Oncology appointment on Thursday afternoon to get results and plan treatment. Zombie's hoping chemo can start quickly thereafter.

that's good news Lily - is that due to your new chemo?

Hi wee proud if you for going to the match tomorrow. I think you will have a fabulous time. I'm glad my DDs were past picking up phase as that would indeed have been difficult following the op, mine are also old enough to understand gentle hugs only. Have a brilliant day tomorrow.

Morning all!

wee, Zombie hopes it's as glorious a day where you are as it is here. Enjoy the match.

Hi all

Wanted to pop on and tell you all I had an amazing party/Macmillan night in last night! Everyone had a great time, and I haven't smiled so much for ages Grin

We raised almost £400! which my mums boss has said he will double Smile

wee hope you have something to celebrate later! Although your team reaching the final and you making it to the match, is an achievement in it's self! So well done you!

mom I am very jealous of your hair growth!! I now have a covering but no where near the length you have on top! But I think today I might have to try going scarf less out in public! Finding it really warm with the scarf on, especially mixed with hot flushes!! Now to find a light weight hat that I like! Don't want to get a sunburnt head!!

Hope everyone enjoys a nice hot and sunny weekend! Xx

Zombie we are almost scan buddies. Mine is week after. Have you had one before?

I had a bit of a kerfuffle as the original CT scan was on the day of an exam so I rescheduled it and the earliest they could do was two weeks later. Then I got my oncologist appointment but it was the day before my scan. I emailed my nurse to ask how long I needed to leave between having the scan and my follow up appointment, and she said only 24 hours! They take the scan and then upload it to the online system so then the consultant can just log in and get it. I'm very impressed with the efficiency of it all. It's silly as I've had two before and knew they were on the computer but still half imagined them having to carry massive photographs between the different hospitals! Grin

Oh and my bowel nurse is kindly rescheduling the appointment for me :)

It's a gorgeous day here too but I shall be spending it mostly in the library as my last exam is on Monday. I hope you are all able to enjoy it Smile

wee good luck at the match!

Oooh, we can hold hands, RahRah! Grin

Zombie's only had one previous CT scan and that was pre-rads last time around.

Hi All, rahrah, what exams are you taking? Good luck with the last one. How incredible of you to manage to focus on studying with everything else going around. I am trying to learn lines of a script and have real trouble getting anything to stick.
really what a fantastic way to celebrate finishing your treatment.
wee have fun today - it is Dundee we are supposed to be supporting, right? (Only joking). I will be willing on the Saints (oh, yes, I've done my homework) as I suspect will be most neutrals.
Hope everyone us enjoying a sunny weekend.

ConsiderablyBiggerBuns (that's one of my fave scenes by the way! Grin) it's my uni finals. I finished chemo in July so I haven't had too much to contend with since then, just various surgery hiccups. The chemo brain still interferes somewhat with studying but so far, touch wood, I've found that I've been able to remember most of what I need to in the exam, even though I couldn't remember it when testing myself beforehand.

What are the lines for? I hope they start to stick soon, I'm sure they will :)

Zombie yay! I won't bore you with any information about what will happen then, if you've already had one Wink

I'm having my neck done this time, last ones were chest/abdomen/pelvis but this one is neck/thorax/abdomen/pelvis. I found the change of wording oddly unsettling Hmm but assume they've just changed chest to thorax for whatever reason, and this one was ordered by my oncologist whereas others came from surgeon so I expect he just has his own default scan which includes necks. I don't like scans (and also eye tests) as I don't like them being able to see something I can't! ConfusedHmm

Hello all. I'm still half lurking as I have my 'one stop shop' to check my lump on Tuesday. I am so so so petrified- I keep searching the internet for the answer or reassurance and, as you can imagine, I'm not getting it. Not even sure why I'm posting on here as I don't really have anything else to say!

Report
traviata · 17/05/2014 19:56

hi zippyswife, try not to worry, things will feel better after Tuesday whichever way it goes; you will either have an all clear or a plan of action. Step away from the internet! (apart from MN).

Report
Wren48 · 17/05/2014 21:16

zippyswife, just remember that anything you read in the Internet is out of date via a vis breast cancer and is not relevant to you. Waiting is tough. Hands are available here to hold yours if you need it. Use whatever distraction you can find before Tuesday.

Wee what's the news on the match?

Report
zippyswife · 17/05/2014 21:25

Thanks. Yes I was stupidly reading statistics from 20 years ago. That was probably a mistake. I'd love a hand hold. My mind is racing away from me. Thank you. I do realise my worries are relatively trivial but I don't really know where else to go.

Things are very different now to twenty years ago.
We won the Scottish Cup, first time in our 130 year history! Amazing day, so glad I made it, although I was pretty sore and I'm knackered now.

ConsiderablyBiggerBuns · 17/05/2014 21:44

zippy hang on in there and grab as many hands to hold as you need. Avoid google, if you can, and ask for real life experience from the lovely, generous, old Hands on this forum instead.
wee that is fabulous and so pleased you were there, hope you can have a relaxing day tomorrow.
rahrah I do amateur dramatics. This year I am in a production of an Akan Ayckbourn farce, hoping to fit my chemo around it. Last year I was in a production of calendar girls, hence the username which is now a bit ironic. Last week found out our production was Awarded best amateur production - over 600 entries and awarded by the original calendar girls and the playwright - so very proud.

Wee, hooray, hooray! That's such amazing news, and especially that you were able to be there. Well worth a bit of soreness I'd have thought.

Zippyswife, no one here is ever going to tell you your worries are trivial. Here's a hand to hold. Kick the Internet data out of your head.
