Father with Hep C. Any risk to my baby son??

I'm hoping someone might have some advice for me.

My father was recently diagnosed with hepatitis c. He may have had it for 20+ years. I was tested for hep c in pregnancy this year and am negative. However I'm a bit anxious about my DS1 being at risk by being around his grandad. We saw my dad for Christmas yesterday and I was a bit alarmed to see my baby sucking on my dad's hand/arm. He's putting everything in his mouth at the moment and I didn't think to warn my dad to be careful of this and Ds1 did it before I could stop him. He also shoved his hand at my dad's mouth at one point too. Does this pose any risk to him? I understand hep c is transmitted by blood so am I right in thinking that unless dad has cut himself this kind of thing is ok?

Dad adores DS1 and has lost a child, my sister, in recent years so I don't want to keep his grandson from him. But it's just been playing on my mind a bit and I'm quite a worried/anxious person in general. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

No, it is transferred by bodily fluids only - a bit like HIV.
Social contact is no real risk.

It may be worthwhile addressing your anxiety so you can enjoy both your DS and your DF and their interactions together rather than worrying about them?

Thanks Pacific. I do want to address it but didn't want to do it in front of everyone else yesterday. He's a bit sensitive about it.
