Hi

I need to see a gynaecologist. I'm specifically looking for personal recommendations since there are so many to choose from and to be honest I would like to see one of the best. So any names or clinics would be great.

Private or NHS is fine.

Thank you!

Miss Jane Bridges at the Bupa Cromwell (or Chelsea and Westminster for NHS). She is an excellent Consultant Gynaecologist, she recently treated me for a serious vulval condition and I'd highly recommend her. At the C&W she works with Isabel Pigem who I would also recommend. I've nothing but praise for them.

It depends what sort of consultant you want to see - is it for pain, fertility problems, issues with period? (sorry to ask but it would influence my recommendation).
I see Mr John Bidmead at London Bridge; he is a urogynaecologist and specialises in endometriosis.
He saw him in a state of some distress when two other consultants had sent me away with painkillers and he was extremely kind and knowledgable.
I have had two surgeries with him now for endometriosis and bladder problems, and his intervention has greatly improved my condition and quality of life.

My problem MAY be early prolapse diagnosis/treatment since having my second child. It may not be the case but I really would like to be checked out properly for peace of mind.

Thanks for the recommendations, I am strongly considering the Portland, there are so many Gynae consultants there, I really don't know which to choose!

Don't choose anyone who hasn't got an NHS appointment as well. There are some with practising privately out of the Portland I wouldn't send my cat to.

Nick Wales at C&W is extremely good - good instincts, nice manner, very conscientious and skilled.

I personally would not go to someone over about 55 through choice. Ideally someone who had got consultancy in the last 10 years...

Robert Thonet who works at Parkside and London Bridge - very expert and has a much better bedside manner since they took his large authoritarian desk away!

Austin Ugwumadu is wonderful and charming but I think specialises in infections and irritations so may not be of use to OP.

I would recommend Mr Nicholas Morris who works at the Wellington and Portland Hospitals. He is an exceptional gynaecologist. I would not go anywhere else. He has operated on me and transformed my life. He has all his contact details on his website //www.rapidaccessgynaecology.co.uk

I would like to add my recommendation to the gynaecology team at the Harley Street International Polyclinic harleystreetip.co.uk/private-gynecology-clinic-london/. We've been patients of the clinic for some different types of specialities since we moved to London from Italy and they've been very helpful and kind with all my family.
