I'm a teacher, so am on feet all day. I only do 3 days though. My feet have always ached at the end of the day, but its getting worse. I wasn't even working yesterday, but as usual they are aching and throbbing.

They ache all over, ball of foot, arch, heels, side, top, toes, all the time. Also my Achilles are incredibly painful nearly all the time. Sometimes I can hardly walk. I would love to do some exercise, but my feet just hurt too much after work, and in general. They often are still hurting the next morning.

They do get better in the holidays, but are really painful today, becaus i did a lot yesterday ( not workin) it seems I can manage about 1 and half hours a day before they start to hurt. Have tried insoles, different shoes etc, but nothing seems to help.

See if your GP can book you in for some physio ?! Might help ?! Also although they are hideously expensive MBT shoes are supposed to be really good for helping this sort of thing.
I'm currently on crutches as I hurt my posterior tendons in both heels - so can totally feel your pain ! My physio blamed my flat, lightweight, running shoes - she suggested arch supports in future too ! In fact she was much more helpful than my own GP !!

uk.mbt.com/Home/Collection.aspx
They are curved based shoes ! Bit weird but you rock on them so the weight isn't constant on just one point - so relieving pressure points on your feet and up your legs and even your core !!

I know this sounds really odd, but when I went on a low carb diet and cut all grains out of my diet, my feet completely stopped hurting. I'm off that diet now and literally hobbling on and off through the day.

Also lack of vitamin D can cause leg/foot pain.

There was a study done on MBTs and it said that there was no proof they helped. Which was a bit embarrassing as it was the company that makes them that ordered the study Grin.

I'm on my feet a lot and wore trainers all last week, it was heaven! If you're a teacher you might not be allowed to wear trainers though. I have a blue pair of Addidas so they aren't too trainery looking Hmm.

No trainers aren't really acceptable tbh. I don't think I could bring myself to wear those mbt shoes...whilst I'm not low carbing, I don't eat bread. I did cut out all carbs a bit ago, and it made no difference

What sort of shoes do you wear? Do you wear good solid shoes with a nice thick sole? I find they help.

Nothing seems to make any difference. Boots seem to make it a little bit better, but not much. I have just discovered some bumps on one of my Achilles which really hurt to touch.

Btw, I have never worn high heels

As you're in pain most of the time, it would be a good idea to see your GP and get a referral to a podiatrist.

It sounds to me like your arches may have dropped. Some people have naturally flat feet, which often don't hurt at all, but if your arches drop it can be excruciatingly painful and ime give exactly the symptoms you describe.

Ask your GP to refer you to a podiatrist. It's worth having a proper assessment, rather than just buying orthotics yourself, because there can be lots of different causes for dropped arches, which need different treatments. info

Put some water bottles in the fridge or freezer and roll your feet on them daily ..it really works :)
