Am 47 had a mmmogram last wednesday ( my first) they have just started screening over 47 in my area as opposed to 50, got a letter today saying I need further assessment, saying try not to worry but i can bring someone with me if I want. I am worried!! Nothing to suspect anything wrong outwardly - no lumps or anything but have been googling and there aren't always lumps for cancer

I was in your position last year having had my very first mammogram. I was told since it was my first time and there is no previous history to compare with they want to be doubly sure. You can take your partner/relative/friend to wait with you. I had the mammogram without my partner in the room and the ultrasound with him in the room. In my case there was breast tissue which was 'folded' hence the mammogram being unable to see everything. Ultrasound was able to see over and around the folded tissue and all was well. Try not to worry, many women get recalled after their first time. Let us know how you get on.

My DD had that recently and was told she had calcified cells in a cluster which they wanted to biopsy. Very early stages and only 20% chance of being malignant. She had 5 biopsies under local anaesthetic. A week later they phoned her to say all was benign.

I had this, was totally beside myself. The worry and waiting was hell. The lab was really busy so l had to wait longer for the results but in the end the consultant rang me himself, Begnin.
I hope this will be your outcome. Keep as busy as you can and good luck.

My Mam has just gone through exactly what you are. She did have 2 lumps but they were not cancerous they just asked her for a recall to double check. I'm sure ul be fine ur still still relatively young. It's most likely a cyst. Try not to panic
