blood test results

I've been feeling under the weather for about 6 weeks now.

had a cold, then followed by another cold, then sinusitis and was prescribed antibiotics.

went to see my gp last Thurs as I've been feeling absolutely shattered.

anyway I had blood tests done and have received as letter stating 'we have now received the result of your recent blood test. This shows it would be helpful for us to repeat your blood tests again in 2 weeks'

any ideas?

I recently had similar, they had to repeat as some results that indicate infection were high and they wanted to see if the infection had cleared up or not.

May have been a slight abnormality which was non urgent but they will repeat to see if better , such as white cell count for infection etc

You can ask for a copy of the results. They give the max and min of accepted ranges for each and indicate which one(s) are below or above. Or just phone and ask for the reason.

Just wait for the repeat and when they take them ask or the prev abnormality. Don't stress about it I will just be minor change in infection count blood count or thyroid tests

thanks for your advice.

I popped into the gp's this morning. my tests results indicate there are signs of infection.

I need to go back on the 6th for more tests, but they can't fit me in until the 18thSad

I am so fed up of feeling knackered. I have been ill since the middle of December.

I'm not keen on taking Antibiotics as your own immune system < white blood cells and antibidies> can deal with infections in most cases. But whatever yours is and you have had this unwell feeling for 6 weeks, you may need them.
I had a chest infection shown on the X-ray, but as I had had the flu, they left it 6 weeks before having another x-ray without ABs, and the chest infection was gone. But I felt fine and you don't.

They will probably need to try to find what type/where the infection is to prescribe the right ABs for you
Good luck

I've already had antibiotics for sinusitis and finished them 2 weeks ago, so had blood tests a week after finishing them, which was a week ago.

There are different ABs for different infections. Also the ABs after only 1 week may be affecting your immune system, so want to check again later to see if back to normal or not.
Sorry you have been delayed with your next appt. They should have booked you in for the 6th last time when they told you.
