Haemorroids question

My mum has been in a lot of pain, she suffers with proctitis, anyway because she was passing alot of blood and a few blood clots, we took her to the hospital. The dr there examined her and said she has two big ish haemorrids, and they can't do anything other than suggest anousal and going back to the gp for treatment. The dr did some blood tests to see if there was anything showing up in her bloods, but everything came back normal. My mum is still in alot of pain, am i right to think that if she passing a few blood clots, this is serious and she needs medical attention? surely the dr at the hospital should know all this anyway.

Sorry, have no knowledge of proctitis, only haemorrhoids. It does sound as though she needs to be checked for a thrombosed haemorrhoid though.

What treatment is she getting for the proctitis?

Thanks tapir she is on some suppositries for the proctitis. I am going to tell her to go back to the dr and tell him she needs urgent care, what would they do for a thrombosed haemorroid?

The suppositories are good for proctitis (as far as I can find).

Have a look at this link - it explains a lot about haemorrhoids and the appropriate treatment. here

I hope it all works out for her!
