Dieting but not losing weight

Am sooooo frustrated. Have started on slimming world again (I lost ten pounds on it this time last year) and thought I'd gotten off to a flying start. I've been really good, even easily eating less syns than first time round. I've been really sensible and have tried to eat very heathily (avoiding diet alternatives) and yet I gained a 1lb within the first few days and now at the end of the week I'm back to my original starting weight. I've been out walking every day (a few miles) too. Am so gutted as wanted to really blast off 10lbs over the next four weeks before a spa break with a pal. To make it worse my hubs has been joining me and he has been so bad (chocolates, alcohol etc) and yet still manged to lose 5lbs in his first week. Am starting wii fit tomorrow so am hoping it'll start to come off. Any advice or encouragement welcome! X

I found if my period was due I wouldn't lose anything till after it had started then I'd drop lbs. Maybe it has something to do with it.

Also the Christmas weight can add on a week after you've started being good. Walking could have built muscle as well which would counteract your fat loss initially.

Keep going, don't snack, 3meals a day and keep walking! It has to come off soon! Good luck, it's hard work but it will happen.

Yes, I reckon you're right. I am going to only weigh weekly, at least then I won't feel in a constant state of frustration! Unfortunately, no period in sight (I blow up the week before so wouldn't weigh myself that week). Cupcake 78, how can it take a week for the weight to go on? I don't understand. Thanks!

I don't know. It's what my gp told me and it seems to be true for me. I put nothing on for a week or so and then it just clings. She may have just been being nice Grin
