I have a massive hard lump in my boob and the skin is puckered. I thought it was breastfeeding but a quick google tells me that's not likely. Shit. :(

Are you off there now? Googling is a Bad Thing. It can be absolutely nothing to worry about. Try to keep callm until you've seen the doctor. Make sure they have a proper look and test. Dont leave until you are happy with the diagnosis.

Not stupid to worry at all. Perfectly natural to be concerned if you don't know what's going on.

yes, perfectly natural to worry, and google always adds to scariness.

Not stupid to worry at all, I have been there twice.
First time I was sent away by the breast clinic - an ultrasound and a 'feel' revealed it was harmless fatty tissue.
The second time I ended up having an needle biopsy and then a full biopsy, but again, it was fatty tissue. (Don't know why I was surprised, have fatty tissue everywhere else Wink )

Well done on making the appointment. I found that the hardest step!

Hand here for holding if you need it.

Well done for taking the plunge and making an appointment. We are all here for you.

Remember that only 1 in 10 of all breast lumps are something sinister, and only 1 in 10 of those are hard-to-treat ones. So the odds of it being fine are in your favour, and even if its not, BC is so treatable these days. I know, because I have had it.

Would second popping over to the tamoxifen thread - we all know how you feel, and have all been through similar anxieties.

Got everything crossed for tomorrow x x

Hi all! Thank you so much for your good wishes. I have a referral to the breast clinic which is good and bad I suppose. Dr said he didn't think it was anything but then followed this up by saying it was just too hard to tell on breast feeding breasts, so not filling me with confidence.

Feel a lot calmer now I've got that bit out of the way though.

Will be thinking of you and hope all is well.9 out of 10 breast lumps are benign and the one that isnt is better dealt with early.
I had cysts for over 30 years starting with bf failure. After 30 years I was dx with breast cancer-detected early because of regular checks following all the cysts.
Good Luck

If the doc was concerned, they would have pointed you towards the hospital and said 'RUN!'. They would! I've had several family members been sent to hospital so fast your head would spin.

Keep calm.... Worrying won't make it better or worse. Not easy I know, but keep busy, make plans for Christmas, make Frontpaw some mince pies
