My poor little dd2 has caught dd1's horrid cough. She is only 10 months and I was wondering if anyone knew any ways to help ease the coughing, it's wearing her out and she looks so sad and tired.

I think you can use vicks on the chest at 10 months can't you, that my help.

when she is sleeping raise the head of her bed, make sure that the air in the house isn't too dry, wrap her up warm and take her out for some fresh air.

Raise her bed, get one of those Karvol vapourisers, and ask the chemist for any recommendations.

ds has the same nasty cough poor little thing. Our house is rather dry and warm at night so I tried to use a vapouriser with no luck at all.

I have been using ds's electric steam sterilizer to get some moisture in the air. It shuts off when it has finished it's 10 minute cycle and I go into his room every hour or so to top it up.

It really has helped his cough.

dingdong - can you not buy air humidifiers in the UK? We have one, live in Switzerland where everyone has them, the air is very dry here in winter.

you can yes but I needed a quick fix one evening and the steamer was perfect. As ds's cough is goign to be (hopefully very) temporary I didn't see the point in buying one
