I have just found lice on dd, just wondered if I should be cleaning hairbrush if so what with, because would the hairbrush keep reinfecting dd hair or mine.

dont know if they live on hair that isnt attached! but make sure all hair is off the brush, maybe wash in soapy water.

The cant live off the scalp for very long, but you could always pour boiling water over the brush after each use just to be sure.

Just get the hair off the brush before you use it again. You don't need to get paranoid about things like bedding and hats, etc. because any lice that fall off will be old or sick ones, but I think it's possible you could pull hairs with lice on from your head onto the brush, so just check each time before use. If there's no hair on the brush then there can't be lice on it.

Oil suffercates nits - its about the only thing that does, so rub your brush with baby oil. spray kids hair with oil and teetree, the nits will not grip well in the hair and will comb out easier the hatched buggars will suffercate.

you can always wash the hairbrush in washing machine (in a string bag) on a very hot wash.
